Most European homes have three-phase power (400V), which supports 11kW or 22kW chargers. If you only have single-phase (230V), you are limited to 7.4kW — still enough for a full overnight charge. Check your electricity meter or ask your energy supplier to confirm.
Absolutely. A 5kW solar system generates enough annual energy (4,500–5,500 kWh) to cover an average EV's yearly consumption (~3,500 kWh for 15,000 km). Smart chargers like the Zappi v2 have dedicated solar-divert modes that only charge when your solar is producing excess energy — reducing grid draw to near zero.
A tethered charger has a permanently attached cable — just grab and plug in. A socket charger (like Easee One or go-e Gemini 2) requires you to bring your own Type 2 cable, but is more flexible if you need different cable lengths or share with multiple vehicles. For home use with one car, tethered is more convenient.
Only if your EV's onboard AC charger supports 22kW. Many EVs (e.g. Tesla Model 3, VW ID.4) have 11kW onboard chargers, so they will charge at 11kW regardless of wallbox speed. The Renault Megane E-Tech (22kW) and some BMW models do support the full 22kW. A 22kW wallbox is still future-proof for your next EV.
